The story at the Rosemead Invitational was Loyola Boys Dominance.
They started the night with Charlie Sherman's win in the freshman boys race with a dominating 15:52 performance to lead the Loyola frosh to a 3rd place showing. Then in the soph boys race, Jonathon Pinon grabbed the win with a solid 15:41. Not to be outdone, teammate Robert Brandt came back in the junior boys race and won it in 14:49, the fastest time of the night. The one race the Cubs didn't get indivual honors was the seniors boys race, where first place honors went to Tomas Navarro of Salesian who won in 14:51. Loyola did, however, put no less that three in the top 10 with Aaron Zambrano (14:58 - 2nd) John McAndrews (14:59 - 3rd), and Gabriel Morin (15:23 - 7th) to lead the Cubs to a senior boys trophy.
Loyola will be going south this weekend to compete at the Mt. Carmel Invitational.
